We got to the barn at 7:30 and registered. Morgan's instructor put her in the small fry class - with one other girl. The only thing I knew about horse shows was that each class award 4 ribbons. I smiled.... it was going to be a good day. Morgan was assigned Emerson - an old but very gentle horse that gets put into service for shows when there are a lot of girls and not many horses. We groomed very well, he was one of the few horses that didn't have mud in his tail ! When it was time to go outside and practice on Emerson, Morgan discovered what her instructor meant when she said "He canters about as fast as he walks". Yup, he was old and gentle, and pokey. Morgan needed a crop to get him to trot in practice. Our only mistake was that we didn't send her into the show with a crop. But that's okay... Emerson was pokey, but Morgan did well. She got second place! Here are some pictures.
