Where does the time go?

March was my last entry? And it wasn't even a real entry, just some photos? LAME!!! I was thinking today that while facebook is fun an all, sometimes you really can't say what you want to say in 50 words or less. I can't believe I didn't have a blog entry from when Mo got thrown from Zig and left a show in an ambulance. Or when she won the fair 2 months later (different horse). Or how poor Dylan was on lockdown to make weight for football and now thinks he's fat. Yep, sometimes you need more than 50 words.

From our vacation this summer which began at Sebec Lake in Maine. I wanted to take Mike and the kids to Moosehead. They've never seen that region, and I thought it would be a nice change. Moosehead was booked, and I stumbled along Sebec Lake which was still pretty darn big, and a lot closer. Mom and Dad were on board, and we got Fred and Jen to join us as well. It was one of those trips where everything went well. The weather was awesome. Campground was REALLY nice. The lake, while a bit rough the first day, calmed down enough to let us go out in canoes twice, and Fred's boat one day. Here's a pix of Dylan and Diesel in the back of the truck coming back from the public boat launch. Now, seatbelts certainly have their purpose in life. As a former EMT I don't ever leave my driveway without one. But... you just have to be able to ride in the back of a pick up truck on a dirt road with your bestie (and an ice cream) to have REALLY lived. :) If you look close the shot was taken from the rear view mirror. Cool, eh?Speaking of besties, here he is... enjoying Sebec Lake with the rest of us. Seriously, how lucky are we to have two of the best dogs ever in our life? First Tonka and now Diesel. aaawww.....

And last but not least.... I swear sunsets on vacation are magical. Maybe that's because we're relaxed and actually outside to view them?

And.... my bestest running buddy ever

Ziggy!!!

Bunnies!!!

I am starting to think spring has finally come. Despite the fact that our 2' of snow from the recent blizzard is still on the ground, it was warm and sunny and 50 degrees today. In other words, heaven. Mike and the kids spent quite a bit of time at the firehouse during my "busy season" in January and February. They learned that 3 pet rabbits were abandoned in the back yard of the firehouse, and the bunnies have been living under the wood pile and pallets for the winter. The kids have been pestering to bring one home, and I finally said why not. They really aren't that much trouble and they will be outside. Mike found a rabbit cage that was free for the taking, and he took it, but the closer we inspected it the more we realized it had seen it's day. So, for about $100 of wood and materials we are 3/4 of the way to completing a nifty rabbit house, complete with a ramp for the bunny to hop down and eat some grass. Errr... at least after the snow melts off of it. Here are a few pictures of the house in progress.
